UQ in Jaipur

Georgia Clelland

Georgia Clelland is a member of the UQ in Jaipur 2017 team. She is currently studying in Journalism and Communications. She has previously undertaken an internship at The Courrier Mail and the TEN Network in Brisbane.


Eliza Crisp

Eliza is in her final year of a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland. After taking an *extended* gap year to live in London, Vancouver and Melbourne, she has returned to Brisbane to finish her studies. Eliza has a raging tea habit, and an unhealthy addiction to washed rind cheese.


Kate Cullen

Kate Cullen is a Journalism and Communications student at the University of Queensland majoring in Public Relations. As a member of the UQ in India team, Kate hopes to demonstrate her skills in radio, print and photography. Climate change, social justice and culture are themes she will be exploring during her time in India.


Juanita Egan

Juanita Egan is currently in her third year studying a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Public Relations. She aims to use the knowledge and experience gained through the India trip to carry through her future endeavors in the industry.


Maya Fellows

Maya is in the final stages of completing her dual degree in Journalism and Business Management (Marketing) at The University of Queensland. She is looking forwards to the challenges of reporting from another country, and honing her skills in the field. With a passion for travelling, Maya wants to move abroad once graduating and work with an established media organisation to create engaging content.


Maegan Gillespie

Maegan is in her final semester of a Bachelor of Journalism and Communications (Public Relations) and is a member of the UQ in Jaipur team for 2017. Along with studying fashion journalism in Italy, Maegan has worked with Queensland Magazines, GCMag, 4ZZZ radio, P4 Group and Invigorate PR. Going forward, Maegan hopes to pursue her passion for journalism.


Johnpaul Gonzo

Johnpaul Gonzo is a third year Journalism and Communication student at the University of Queensland. He has previously interned at 4ZZZ and WIN News.


Madeline Grace

Madeline Grace is a member of the UQ in India 2017 team. She is in her third year of study at the University of Queensland and studies a Bachelor of Journalism; majoring in writing. Madeline also contributes as a news reporter and intern coordinator at local Brisbane Community radio station 4ZZZ.


Nicolas Huntington

Nic is in the fourth year of his studies, he currently is studying a Bachelor Journalism and a Bachelor of Business Management. Nic is an avid photographer who has self produced magazines of his work. He also has a passion for culture, especially music, having written for AAA Backstage as well as having hosted a music program for JACradio.


Mia Knight

Mia is a final year Journalism student at the University of Queensland. As a member of the UQ in Jaipur 2017 team, Mia aims to create visually stimulating content and develop essential skills as an aspiring foreign correspondent while reporting in India.


McKenna Lea

Mckenna Lea is a third year dual Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Communications student majoring in public relations at the University of Queensland. She is fresh off a semester abroad at the University of North Carolina, where she gained experience at a community newspaper, The Durham Voice, and volunteered in inner city classrooms. She hopes to further her knowledge in international journalism during her time with the UQ in India 2017 team.


Kemii Maguire

With an interest in political cartooning and rural stories, Kemii is eager to gain journalistic experience in all fields. Kemii is a member of the UQ in Jaipur 2017 team, studying a dual Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Art (Japanese and Political Science).


Claire Norton

Claire Norton is a fourth year Bachelor of Journalism and Communication degree student, majoring in Public Relations at the University of Queensland. Claire is passionate in creating and telling stories. Claire has previously interned at Channel 9 News, the Fraser Coast Chronicle and Zedlines at 4zzz Community Radio.


Hannah Palmer

Hannah Palmer is a member of the UQ in India 2017 team. She is a third year Journalism and Communication student, majoring in Public Relations at The University of Queensland.

Ryan Webb

Ryan is a final year student at The University of Queensland, studying a dual degree of a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Journalism. Whilst studying at UQ, he has also currently completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics at the Queensland University of Technology. In 2018, Ryan will be starting as a Management Consultant Graduate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), working in the Operations team.


Anastasia White

Anastasia White is in her fourth year of a dual Bachelors of Journalism/Arts, majoring in International Relations. She will be visiting India in September and is excited to explore her passions for storytelling and learning about other cultures.

A journalism and communications (public relations major) student, passionate about writing, film-making and radio.


Nickie You

Nickie You is a final year student at the University of Queensland, studying a Bachelor of Journalism / Public Relations. Her written pieces are aimed to encapsulate raw emotions and give voice to underrepresented issues and the personal stories of others. She has formed a love for photojournalism during her time at university. Nickie believes that photographs are just as meaningful as text. A photo has the ability to express emotive details which cannot always be explained accurately through words. Currently, she is interning at a Government Ministerial Office where she utilises her skills from her journalism and public relations studies.


Michelle Zhu

Michelle Zhu is a writer who focuses on talking about music, travel and taboo truths. She has lived all around the world, including Australia, San Francisco and Tokyo, and her writing has been published on ACCLAIM, Moustache Magazine, Global Hobo, Purple Sneakers, Toasted Life (Oakland), Unvarnished (New York), Be Inspired (Tokyo).
