A University of Queensland journalism and arts graduate was named first runner-up in the Ekka showgirl pageant yesterday.
Caitlin Holding, now a journalist for WIN News at Hervey Bay, said she was very excited at being chosen as runner-up in the Queensland Miss Show Girl Award.
“I did not expect to place so highly with all the beautiful and successful ladies,” Caitlin said.
Jessica Robinson, from Central Queensland, is this year’s winning showgirl. She beat 10 contenders from all over Queensland.
A secondary school teacher, who loves teaching dance with children, Jessica impressed the judges with her vibrant personality during the interview portion.
Caitlin and Jessica will be attending important events all around Queensland throughout the year, including a dinner with the Queensland Governor.
