Under the Counter – India’s Pharmaceutical Industry
India has one of the largest and most dangerous pharmaceutical industries in the world.
Patent laws make medication extremely cheap in India and prescriptions are rarely needed. Having such cheap and easily accessible medication allows everyone to have equal access to all medicines. But it also means that over the counter drug addiction is a massive problem.
Many pharmacists are not following regulations, selling banned substances, and knowingly selling to people with over the counter drug addiction.
