Vanessa Bartholomew

Vanessa is a Journalism and Arts student with three years' experience across communication and marketing roles. While in Northern India, she will be examining the increase in frequency and ferocity of natural disasters in the region due to climate change, their impacts and the efforts of India as a nation, Rajasthan as a state, communities and individuals to become self-sufficient in disaster response and recovery.


Anthea Belessis

Anthea Belessis is currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Journalism / Arts (Linguistics and Peace and Conflict Studies) degree. Her interests lie in politics and culture and she is looking to explore these interests through print journalism.


Julia Enchelmaier

Julia is in her final year of journalism and international relations at the University of Queensland. Upon graduating she wishes to work as a foreign correspondent.


Georgia Schefe

Georgia is a third year Journalism and Business Management student, majoring in International Business. While in India, she will explore the interconnectedness of languages and revenue in a highly globalised world. Georgia is also a desk editor for the JAC Digital platform.


Lachlan Grant

Lachlan Grant is a third-year Journalism and Communication student at the University of Queensland. Lachlan has previously interned at Seven News and NEP Broadcasting. As a member of the UQ in Jaipur team, Lachlan hopes to tell meaningful stories that address social issues.


Jasmine Hines

Jasmine Hines is a third year student at the University of Queensland. She studies a dual degree in journalism and communications. While participating in the UQ in India program, she's hoping to write a range of multimedia stories on social issues.


Katy Holland

Katy is in her final semester of a Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Queensland. She hopes to work as a producer and presenter in broadcast and social issues are her jam.


Tobias Jurss-Lewis

Tobias is an aspiring journalist, an aspiring screenwriter and an aspiring good bloke.


Shirley Luy

Shirley is a final year Journalism/Business Management student majoring in marketing. She is passionate about social issues and impactful storytelling. Shirley has previously interned at Seven News and Queensland Magazines. She is thrilled to be reporting in Rajasthan as part of the UQ in India project.

Jessica Miller

Jessica is a final year Journalism and Communications student at the University of Queensland. She comes from a rural background and has a passion of telling stories of people from the bush. Jessica is looking forward to exploring India's agriculture industry during her time on the UQ in Jaipur trip.


Phoebe Nixon

Phoebe Nixon is a Journalism and Arts student at the University of Queensland. By combining her studies of journalism and sociology, she hopes to tell human stories with nuances and complexities. As a passionate environmentalist, Phoebe is excited to learn more about India's waste management system during her time on the UQ in Rajasthan trip.


Lucy Ratz

Lucy Ratz is in her third year of a Journalism and Arts degree at the University of Queensland. She is interested in pursing a career in Education reporting in the print journalism medium.


Georgia Esplin

Georgia is a Journalism/Arts student majoring in International Relations and Spanish. She has undertaken an internship at The Embassy of El Salvador in Canberra, and is passionate about politics and current affairs.


Laura Sinclair

Laura is a third year student who studies a Bachelor of Journalism and Communication, majoring in public relations.


Kirsten Slemint

Kirsty is completing a dual Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Science (majoring in Zoology) at the University of Queensland. With a passion for the effective communication of science, she has her sights set firmly on a career in documentary film production.


Emily Steinhardt

Emily Steinhardt is in her fourth and final year of a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Communications.


Sarah Ward

Sarah is a third year Journalism and Arts student at the University of Queensland with a major in Spanish and minors in Math and Economics. She is interested in writing and photography and is eager to use these skills as a member of the UQ in Rajasthan team to explore the stories of the people from Jaipur.


Grace Whiteside

Grace is in her fourth year and final semester of Journalism/Arts, majoring in International Relations and Drama. She has a passion for hyperlocal stories and is very excited and grateful to be a part of the UQ in Rajasthan experience.


Enya Williams

Enya Williams is a third year Journalism/Criminology student. She is hoping to use this project as a learning experience to help improve her skills as a journalist. As Rajasthan will be the 13th country she has visited this year, she is looking forward to having the opportunity to express her passion for exploring other cultures and countries.
