SOOT designer proves age is no barrier

SOOT designer proves age is no barrier

At just 19, Edwina Sinclair has accomplished that which only established and experienced designers usually achieve.

At 19, Edwina Sinclair has accomplished that which only established and experienced designers usually achieve.

Since establishing her label SOOT. Sinclair has opened a concept store in the fashion heart of Brisbane, James Street, Fortitude Valley.

Stocking her label across Brisbane and Melbourne boutiques and now having shown collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival for two years in a row, it’s hard to imagine what this young fashionista cannot do.

At a young age, Ms Sinclair was immersed in the world of design watching and contributing to her mother’s costume business.

Since finishing high school at Sommerville House, with a fast track fashion course from the Australian Institute of Fashion, under her belt, she is now studying a fine arts degree at the Queensland University of Technology.

When asked what the future holds for this young business woman, she giggled and exclaimed:

“I am asked that question a lot and never really know what to say, but I will try!”

Whilst Sinclair, of course, has great aspirations for the future of her label and career, in the meantime her focus’s are similar to any teenager and that is assignments, travel and a little bit of fun when she can fit it in.
